All the Year 6 students from the School Parliament hold varying ministerial positions. We began School Parliament in 2017, and it has been very successful in giving students a voice. School Parliament is designed to develop an understanding of our Government System as well as develop the student’s leadership skills. It is intended to encourage students to develop self confidence through active participation. The students become actively involved in issues that they feel are important in their own lives and the lives of others, and they exchange viewpoints and learn to respect the opinions of others. The school parliament meets fortnightly to present bills. Throughout the fortnight, the parliamentarians will work on their proposals, meeting with their supervising staff member and seeking ideas from all students.
